Siemens Healthineers announced it has secured FDA clearance for its Magnetom Vida 3 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging system. The company said that the newly cleared 3T MRI scanner features new BioMatrix technology designed to address inherent anatomical and physiological differences in patients and user variability to reduce rescans and increase productivity and cost efficiency. Siemens said that the Magnetom Vida features BioMatrix sensors built into the patient table to automatically track respiratory patterns to improve exam strategies.

The devices BioMatrix tuners help improve the quality and reproducibility of whole-spine diffusion imaging through individual slice adjustments designed to mitigate distortion. The system also includes improvements which improve energy efficiency to lower ownership cost overtime, with intelligent control over power-demanding components to deactivate them when they are inactive for long periods.
