By using this service, you agree to be bound by, and to comply with both our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Terms of Use

This service is intended for doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Please take care to review the terms of use in conjunction with our privacy policy. If you do not agree to all of these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy, do not use the service.

Your agreement is binding regardless of whether you continue to use the service anonymously (unregistered or not logged in) or as an identifiable individual or organisation (registered or logged in user).

This service contains an aggregation of content from multiple sources including – but not limited to – independent publishers, government agencies, professional societies, news agencies, our own and independent medical writers, and other users of epgonline.org. The service also contains sponsored content, messages and other materials placed and paid for by advertisers, sponsors or others with an underlying commercial or scientific agenda. By using the service you may be exposed to that content, those messages or materials and, where that is the case, a clear statement will be displayed in the header or footer confirming that the content is sponsored, funded, placed, positioned or otherwise commercially funded – along with the source and nature of that funding.

By accessing any part of the service you acknowledge that information relating to you and your access, including behaviour patterns and in some instances personally identifiable information may be shared within our organisation (its subsidiaries, divisions, related entities and affiliates) regardless of the service element you have accessed or its provider.

On an anonymised basis this same information – or parts thereof – may also be stored, referenced and used by third parties whose services support or form a component of this service. These include third parties such as Google Analytics or DoubleClick (an advertising service operated by Google), and used by us to serve advertising to users of this service.

In general, the purpose of collecting such information is to help us better measure, analyse, understand and serve the needs of our users with appropriate content.

This service and associated offerings such as other websites, newsletters, mobile applications, software applications, databases, reference tools, continuing medical educational content (grant funded), non accredited learning (sponsored content), learning zones (grant funded and sponsored content), drug databases and news (collectively “the services”) – unless otherwise stated – are owned and provided to you by EPG Health Media (Europe) Limited (“the service provider”).

In addition to EPG Health Media (Europe) Ltd, some service elements are also provided under license or by way of other agreement by related businesses within our organisation (“a group Company”). These are subsidiaries, divisions, related entities and affiliates, including but not limited to EPG Health Media GmbH, EPG Health Technology, EPG Digital Media Communications and IMR International (Australia) Pty Limited. Where that is the case, these terms of use and privacy policy shall prevail.

Should a component or element of the service be provided by a group Company or other 3rd party, and unless stated otherwise, then these terms of use shall continue to prevail, and where applicable, are applicable concurrent with those of a third party such as Google DoubleClick or Google Analytics.

1. Intended audience – healthcare professionals

By accessing this service you are confirming your status as a medical doctor, physician, nurse, clinical specialist or otherwise qualified healthcare professional.

This service is intended for use by healthcare professionals only. The information is not intended to replace medical advice offered by doctors, physicians or other qualified healthcare professionals.

2. Accuracy and use of content contained

We make every effort to ensure the accuracy of content presented through the services. However, in view of the possibility of errors by the authors, editors, or publishers of the material contained herein, or of the expiry of its validity due to subsequent external changes, neither the service provider nor any other party involved in the preparation of this material warrants that the information contained herein is accurate or complete, and they are not responsible for any errors or omissions or for the results obtained from the use of such.

Medical professionals should confirm the accuracy of the information contained herein using other sources.

Users are cautioned to always research information related to prescription medicines or treatment from more than one recognised source and are solely responsible for any decision taken regarding treatment of a patient.

The service provider and other parties involved herein make no representations or warranties with respect to any treatment, action or application of medication or preparation by any person following the information offered or provided within or through this service.

The service provider and any other party involved herein will not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, special, exemplary or other damages arising from the use of this service.

4. Service and operation

The service provider reserves the right to add, modify, or delete any of the content and services or parts thereof at any time. Access to the service may be unavailable or terminated at any time and this will not affect any disclaimer or limitation of liability.

In no event shall the service provider or their partners/subcontractors be liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential damages caused by any failure of performance, mistakes, omissions, interruptions, deletion of files, defects, delays in operations or transmission, communications lines failure, theft, destruction, unauthorised access to or use of the service, or for any failure or inability to perform by the service provider or its subcontractors due to any cause beyond their control.

In addition, we reserve the right to alter, edit, refuse to post or remove any content, in whole or in part, for any reason and to disclose such materials and the circumstances surrounding their transmission to any third party in order to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request and to protect our business, our clients, sponsors, users and visitors. The service provider will, at their sole discretion, remove any post deemed offensive or malicious. This will occur without warning. Any user who posts inappropriate material on the site may be banned from future posting at the sole discretion of the service provider. Content placed on the site is visible to all users, and once posted, users may not modify or erase their posts except by contacting us with a request to do so.

7. Complaints and disputes

If you discover any content on the site which you consider breaches any of these Terms of Use, or if you believe that another user has violated the Terms of Use or infringed your rights, you should notify the service provider immediately. In the event that the service provider receives a complaint regarding the site, the service provider will consider the complaint and take appropriate action, which may include removing the offending content and/or taking legal action. The service provider is not obliged to advise anyone alleged to have, or whom we consider has, infringed the terms, that we have altered, removed, or edited any material they have posted. Any response we give is at our absolute discretion.
