Sarcoma awareness week happens during Sarcoma awareness month.

"This year let’s get the message out there that sarcoma is cancer. People understand what cancer is. Chances are, they have no idea what sarcoma is."

  • Every day 15 people in the UK are diagnosed with sarcoma. It's more common than we think.
  • Just over half of those with sarcoma will live more than five years after their diagnosis.
  • The majority of people are diagnosed when their sarcoma is about the size of a baked bean tin (10cm).
  • Half of all sarcomas diagnosed in the UK are in people aged 55 or older.
