The 28th scientific meeting of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) on “Hypertension and Cardiovascular Protection”, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain on June 8-11, 2018.

The highlights of the meeting will include the formal presentation of the 2018 ESC/ESH Hypertension Guidelines, together with discussion of the new Guidelines recommendations along several sessions during the Congress.

Given the large amount of high quality research carried out in Europe on hypertension and related cardiovascular diseases, a significant portion of the scientific program will be devoted to original scientific data via oral and poster presentations of abstracts selected by peer review, as in previous editions. Poster presentations will be given special visibility through dedicated sessions, structured discussions and final individual commentaries.

The scientific programme will include many State-of-the-Art Lectures, Debates and Round Tables on major issues of current interest and controversy provided by recent trials. As in the past, the program will dedicate broad resources to the practical aspects of the management of hypertension via Teaching, How-to, Meet the Expert and Clinical case sessions as well as via sessions reserved for hypertension specialists and ESH Excellence Centres. The industry satellites will, as always, make a substantial contribution.

The ESH meeting will be held in Barcelona’s Fira Congress Centre, which can comfortably accommodate the large number of participants and diversified scientific and educational activities that characterize European Hypertension Meetings, with suitable exhibition space for industry.
