Plenvu approved by FDA for cleansing of the colon.- Norgine.
The FDA has approved Plenvu (NER1006), from Norgine + Salix, an osmotic laxative indicated for cleansing of the colon in preparation for colonoscopy in adults. Plenvu is the only low volume (1L) polyethylene glycol based (PEG) bowel preparation.
Comment: Colonoscopy is a vital screening procedure to detect lesions. Colorectal cancer is the second most common cause of cancer-related mortality in Europe, with over 447,000 new diagnoses every year.
