Brintellix (vortioxetine) to be renamed Trintellix- Takeda Pharma + Lundbeck

Brintellix (vortioxetine) an anti depressant from Lundbeck and Takeda Pharma has been re-named Trintellix in the US. The FDA had noted prescribing errors that had occurred due to confusion of Brintellix with blood thinner Brilinta (ticagrelor) from AstraZeneca. The change will take place in June 2016.

In the EU, ticagrelor has the brand name Brilique.
