March 2016-Teva Pharmaceuticals secured FDA approval for its generic of Viagra (sildenafil), but it will not be commercially available for some time. Pfizer has a 2013 agreement with Teva that delays launch of the generic until December 2017. The specific terms of that agreement are confidential, but the December 2017 marketing date is reflected in another confidential settlement Pfizer made with Mylan in April 2015 regarding its efforts to develop generic Viagra. The FDA has approved Teva’s ANDA for the drug under its chemical name — sildenafil citrate — at three dosage levels: 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg.
