Dexcom has received CE Mark approval for its G5 continuous glucose monitor for distribution in several European countries. The device features Bluetooth technology that allows glucose information to be displayed directly onto a smart phone, eliminating the need to carry a separate receiver. It is also equipped with Share technology, which allows users select up to five designated recipients who can remotely monitor the patient’s glucose information and receive alert notifications from almost anywhere.

The CE Mark approval comes just weeks after the San Diego, Calif.-based company won pre-market approval from the FDA for the device in August 2015.
