Our cookies primarily store analytics information, which is never shared with third-parties. The information that is stored in our cookies is limited to browser information and information derived from IP address. We never store personal or sensitive information in our cookies.

Please use 'Contact' to let us know you would like all data removed. We will then manually remove all data relating to your registration, web behaviour or interactions with our communications, and then write to you within 14 days confirming the nature of the data held and its removal.

Please note that we may be required to retain some elements of the data for a period after your request to remove it. Nevertheless, we will respond to your request within 14 days to confirm the status. Any information that is deleted from active databases does not guarantee deletion from remaining archives.

How we use your personal data

Information that you provide. By registering as a user of this service you agree that your personal data may be used by the service provider for the purposes of periodic contact (where you have consented during registration) or for the purposes of market research.

We collect data you have provided while contacting us, especially using the contact, download, or signup forms on our website. We collect data that you have sent to us through an online survey, event attendance application, or 3rd party hosted sign-up form (Facebook, Twitter, Linked In).

You also agree that the service provider may retrieve information regarding your activity on this and other services under its control and ownership – or where you have used your username and password for access – for the purpose of creating a user activity profile (UAP), regardless of whether that UAP is personally identifiable or not.

The service provider may retrieve anonymous information regarding your activity on this and other services – for the purpose of creating a user activity profile (UAP). The UAP may be anonymised, for example it could be defined as the UAP for “a user thought to be a cardiologist based in the United States” or it could be personally identifiable, including your name, profession, license number, location, content preferences, browsing behaviour profile and other pertinent information as supplied by you.

Regardless of whether the UAP is anonymous or not, the service provider will primarily use the information contained within the UAP to better serve your content needs as part of this and related services.

The service provider may also provide access to your UAP to our subsidiaries and affiliates, and also to 3rd party organisations (including but not limited to pharmaceutical, medical device and other health information companies) for the purposes of market research, clinical trials, studies/promotional or email marketing activity. Such activities are usually infrequent and tailored to reflect your areas of interest based on your UAP.

Your personal contact information (name and email address) will never be passed to these organisations unless you expressly agree separately and over and above our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Web Server logs. Like the vast majority of service providers, we automatically gather web server log information – including your browsing behaviour – when you access one of our services.

This information is collected by the computer that hosts our website (called a "web server"). The web server automatically recognises some non-personal information, such as your IP Address, the date and time you accessed the service, the pages you visited, where you came from (e.g. Google), the type of browser you are using (e.g. Internet Explorer), the type of operating system (e.g. Windows 10) you are using, and the domain name and address of your Internet Service Provider. If our website is using cookies (discussed below), the web server will also collect this information.

We also use third party analytics service providers including (but not limited to) Google Analytics. In the same way that we directly collect information about users accessing this service, Google Analytics will – via javascript code inserted in our web pages – obtain, process and analyse similar information about our users.

We often review the server logs and Google Analytics to see which pages are being visited and get a better understanding of how the service is being used by our visitors. We report the performance of those pages (anonymised) to our customers. This allows us to maintain and enhance our service. In addition, in cases of system abuse, we may use this information in conjunction with your Internet Service Provider and/or local authorities to trace the source of any such abuse.

IP Addresses. This website uses identification of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses in order to serve content relevant to your geographic location. An IP address is a number assigned to your computer by your Internet Service Provider so that you can access the Internet. Generally, an IP address changes each time you connect to the Internet (it is a "dynamic" address). Note, however, that if you have a broadband connection, depending on your individual circumstance, it is possible that your IP address that we collect, or even perhaps a cookie we use, may contain information that could be deemed identifiable. This is because with some broadband connections your IP address doesn't change (it is "static") and could be associated with your personal computer. IP addresses are used as part of the web server log information as stated above.

Cookies. This service uses "cookies". A cookie is a text file that our web server sends to your computer when you access a website. This section details what cookies we set, how to find cookies on your machine, and how to change your privacy settings to restrict the use of cookies.

Cookies enable us to improve your user experience on this service. The cookies we use are necessary to help us provide tailored content and monitor site use. Our cookies primarily store analytics information.

The information relating to the user that is stored in our cookies is limited to browser information and information derived from the IP address; we never store personal or sensitive information in our cookies.

This service automatically sets cookies for all users unless they are disabled in your browser settings or via our cookie settings manager.

Disabling cookies could lead to the website not functioning properly and you may be unable to view the content in the manner that was originally intended.

We use the following types of cookies on this site:

  1. Strictly Necessary Cookies. (Always active unless disabled) These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.
  2. Performance Cookies. These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our site, and will not be able to monitor its performance.
  3.  Targeting Cookies. These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information, but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising
  4. Functional Cookies. These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.

Refusing and/or Controlling Cookies. Most of this website will still be visible to you if you elect not to allow cookies to be placed on your computer; however, certain functions such as becoming a registered user, may not be available. There are different methods for viewing and deleting cookies set on your device, depending on the browser you are using. We recommend you visit the website of the browser’s publisher, where you should be able to find this information, or visit a site such as www.aboutcookies.org.

Uses and Disclosures

We will use your information to respond to requests you may make of us, and from time to time, we may refer to your information to better understand your needs and how we can improve Medthority, our products and other services. We may also use your information to contact you and/or provide you with general health information (like information on certain health conditions) as well as information about our products and services. We may also enhance or merge your information with data obtained from third parties for the same purposes.

We may share your information with agents, contractors or partners of the service provider in connection with services that these individuals or entities perform for, or with, Medthority. These agents, contractors or partners are restricted from using this data in any way other than to provide services for Medthority, or services for the collaboration in which they and the service provider are engaged (for example, some of our products are developed and marketed through joint agreements with other companies). We may, for example, provide your information to agents, contractors or partners hosting our databases, for data processing services, or so that they can mail you information that you requested. Medthority requires that such contractors enter into contractual guarantees to observe security and privacy obligations at least as stringent as those set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Medthority reserves the right to share your information to respond to duly authorised information requests of governmental authorities or where required by law. In exceptionally rare circumstances where national or company security is at issue, the service provider reserves the right to share our entire database of visitors and customers with appropriate governmental authorities.

We may also provide your information to a third party in connection with the sale, assignment, or other transfer of the business of this website to which the information relates, in which case we will require any such buyer to agree to treat your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Any third parties we share data with (except for governmental agencies to whom disclosure is required by law) will be contractually obligated to provide a level of privacy protection at least as high as that provided for in this policy.

Choices

Access and Correction. We provide you with the ability to edit the information that you provide to us in registration by using your personal profile configuration area.
