Dr Larenas-Linnemann received her MD cum laude in 1992 at the Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands. She qualified as a paediatrician in 1995 and as a paediatric allergist in 1997 at the National Institute of Pediatrics in Mexico City. In 2016, the Centre of Excellence in Asthma and Allergy at the Hospital Médica Sur, Mexico City became a UCARE Centre of Excellence and in March 2017 she was appointed Director of the Centre. Dr. Larenas-Linnemann has been responsible for coordinating a number of guidelines activities, managing the process through many experts representing a dozen national societies in the field including: the National Guidelines on Immunotherapy for Mexico (2011), the transculturised document “ARIA México” (2014), the Mexican Urticaria Guidelines (2014, a leading regional document with 35,000 downloads) and the Mexican Guideline on Asthma (2017). In 2012, she was named ARIA country coordinator for Mexico. She is an expert panel member of the EAACI/GA2LEN/EDF/WAO urticaria guideline update 2017. In recognition of her expertise in allergy, Dr Larenas-Linnemann has lectured at numerous national, regional and global allergy congresses. She is or has been committee chair at EAACI, AAAAI, SLAAI and CMICA (WAO, ACAAI: cie-member). Dr Larenas-Linnemann has published over 110 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has written various book chapters. She became member of the National System of Investigators, level II, in January 2016.
