History of World Bedwetting Day
In 2015, the International Children’s Continence Society (ICCS) and the European Society for Paediatric Urology (ESPU) announced the launch of World Bedwetting Day at the 26th ESPU Congress in Prague, aiming to raise awareness of the serious impact of this common medical condition on children and families.
In the run-up to the second World Bedwetting Day on 24th May 2016, a WebEx seminar was held to give some background for the event and on the condition, including presentations from some of the leading figures in the field. This is available in the materials below. From 2016 onwards World Bedwetting Day will take place every year in May, with the aim of increasing recognition of the condition, and the importance of effective diagnosis and treatment for nocturnal enuresis.
This web-based seminar was held prior to World Bedwetting Day 2016, and includes discussion with some of the leading figures in the field: Serdar Tekgul, Søren Rittig, Charlotte Van Herzeele and Johan Vande Walle. They address questions from their audience following presentations on the importance of appropriate management of bedwetting.
