| Drug description : | Eye drops. |
| Presentation : | Eye drops, latanoprost 50 microgram per mL. |
| Indications : | Open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension where other treatments have failed or are not tolerated. |
| Adult Dosage : | 1 drop in affected eye(s) once daily, preferably in the evening. |
| Child Dosage : | Not recommended. |
| Contra Indications : | Contact lenses. Pregnancy, lactation. |
| Special Precautions : | Inflammatory, neovascular, angle closure or congenital glaucoma, pigmentary glaucoma, open angle glaucoma in pseudophakic patients. Severe asthma. Aphakic patients, pseudophakic patients with torn posterior lens capsule or anterior chamber lenses. Patients with known risk factors for cystoid macular oedema. |
| Interactions : | Leave interval of at least 5 minutes with other topical eye preparations. preparations. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Darkening of mixed coloured irides; inform patient. Darker, longer or thicker lashes. Blurred vision, conjunctival hyperaemia, foreign body sensation, transient punctate epithelial erosion. Periorbital oedema. Rarely, macular oedema, iritis, uveitis, corneal oedema, asthma exacerbation, dyspnoea. Very rarely, darkening of palpebral skin. |
