| Indications : | Iron-deficiency anaemia where there is intolerance to oral iron or a clinical need to deliver iron rapidly to iron stores. |
| Adult Dosage : | By slow intravenous injection or infusion; see data sheet. |
| Child Dosage : | Not recommended. |
| Contra Indications : | Iron overload or disturbances in the utilisation of iron. History of asthma, eczema, allergic or anaphylactic reactions, liver damage, acute or chronic infection. Pregnancy. |
| Special Precautions : | Facilities for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation must be available. |
| Interactions : | Oral iron. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Metallic taste, headache, nausea, hypotension. Anaphylactoid reactions. |
