| Presentation : | Tablets, tamoxifen (as citrate) 10mg , 20 mg , 40 mg . Various strengths available from APS, Berk (EmblonR ), Co-Pharma (10mg, 20mg), Cox (10mg, 20mg), CP, Generics UK, Hillcross, Norton, Regent. |
| Indications : | Anovulatory infertility. |
| Adult Dosage : | 20 mg daily on four successive days commencing on second day of menstruation. Increase if necessary to 40 mg then 80 mg for subsequent courses. |
| Contra Indications : | Pregnancy and lactation. |
| Special Precautions : | Porphyria. Increased risk of thromboembolic events when cytotoxics administered concurrently. |
| Interactions : | Warfarin. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Hot flushes, vaginal bleeding, gastrointestinal distress. gastrointestinal distress. Rarely, endometrial carcinoma - patients should be advised to report any symptoms of abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge. Visual disturbances, liver enzyme disturbances, tumour flare. |
