| Contra Indications : | Haemorrhagic diathesis, intracranial neoplasm, arteriovenous malformation or aneurysm, CVA, within 10 days of external heart massage, uncontrolled hypertension, active peptic ulceration, severe renal or liver dysfunction, acute pancreatitis, pericarditis, bacterial endocarditis, ophthalmic haemorrhage, within 3 months of severe bleeding, surgery or major trauma. surgery or major trauma. |
| Special Precautions : | Cerebrovascular disease, systolic BP above 160 mmHg, recent GI or genito-urinary bleeding, increased risk of left heart thrombus, septic thrombophlebitis or occluded arteriovenous cannula, increased risk of bleeding. Elderly. |
| Interactions : | Anticoagulants, drugs affecting platelet function, vitamin K antagonists, heparin. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Haemorrhage, ischaemia, heart failure, cardiac arrest, cardiogenic shock, reinfarction, arrhythmias, hypotension. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions. |
