| Presentation : | Injection, vinorelbine (as tartrate) 10 mg /mL. |
| Indications : | As a single agent or in combination therapy for first line treatment of stage 3 or 4 non-small cell lung cancer. Treatment of stage 3 or 4 advanced breast cancer relapsing or refractory to anthracycline containing regimens. |
| Adult Dosage : | 25 - 30 mg/m 2 weekly by slow intravenous bolus injection over 5 - 10 minutes after dilution in 20 - 50 mL saline, or by short intravenous infusion over 20 - 30 minutes after dilution in 125 mL saline. Flush vein with 250 mL saline. Maximum dose, 60 mg. |
| Child Dosage : | Not applicable. |
| Contra Indications : | Severe hepatic impairment. Pregnancy, lactation. |
| Special Precautions : | Mild to moderate hepatic impairment. Monitor haematology; impairment. Monitor haematology; delay treatment if neutrophils <2 x 10 9/litre and/or platelets <75 x 10 9/litre. Advise patient to report symptoms of fever, sore throat or infection. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Neutropenia, anaemia, thrombocytopenia. Loss of deep tendon reflexes, intestinal paresis, GI upset, allergic reactions. Phlebitis at injection site, alopecia, jaw pain. |
