| Drug description : | 2.5mg: yellow tablets marked M2.5. 10 mg: yellow scored tablets marked M10. |
| Presentation : | Tablets, methotrexate 2.5 mg , 10mg . |
| Indications : | Severe uncontrolled psoriasis unresponsive to other therapy. |
| Adult Dosage : | 10 - 25 mg once weekly. Adjust dose according to response and haematological toxicity. A 5 - 10 mg parenteral test dose is recommended 1 week before therapy to detect idiosyncratic reactions. |
| Child Dosage : | Not recommended. |
| Contra Indications : | Severe renal or hepatic impairment and serious anaemia, leucopenia or thrombocytopenia. Pregnancy. Lactation. |
| Special Precautions : | Haematological depression, renal and hepatic impairment, disorders of the GI tract, psychiatric disorders, elderly and young patients. Perform regular blood, hepatic and renal tests every 2-3 months. |
| Interactions : | Protein bound drugs, alcohol, live vaccines, folic acid, folate antagonisrs, etretinate, anticonvulsants, NSAIDs. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Bone marrow depression, GI distress, liver dysfunction, rashes, opportunistic infections. |
