| Generic Name : | Isosorbide mononitrate |
| Drug description : | Yellow oval f-c sustained-release tablet scored and marked A/ID. |
| Presentation : | Tablets, isosorbide mononitrate 60 mg . |
| Indications : | Prophylaxis of angina. |
| Adult Dosage : | 1 daily in the morning, increasing if necessary to maximum 2 once daily. If headache occurs, reduce initial dose to / occurs, reduce initial dose to / tablet daily. |
| Child Dosage : | Not recommended. |
| Contra Indications : | Hypersensitivity to any of the components. Constrictive cardiomyopathy, pericarditis, aortic stenosis, cardiac tamponade, mitral stenosis, severe anaemia, severe cerebrovascular insufficiency, hypotension. Sildenafil has been shown to potentiate the hypotensive effects of nitrates, and its co-administration with nitrates or nitric oxide donors is therefore contraindicated. |
| Special Precautions : | Imdur is not indicated for relief of acute angina attacks; in the event of an acute attack, sublingual or buccal glyceryl trinitrate tablets should be used. |
| Interactions : | Sildenafil. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Headache, dizziness, nausea. Rarely, rash and pruritus. |
