| Drug description : | 25 mg orange capsules marked 27. 75 mg brown capsule marked 26. Both with controlled-release enteric-coated pellets. |
| Presentation : | Capsules, indometacin 25mg , 75mg . |
| Indications : | Rheumatoid arthritis, anyklosing spondylitis, osteoarthrosis, gout, bursitis, tendonitis, tenosynovitis. |
| Adult Dosage : | 50_75 mg daily as one or two doses increasing by 25 mg or 50 mg at weekly intervals; max. 200 mg daily. |
| Child Dosage : | Not recommended. |
| Contra Indications : | Active peptic ulcer, history of gastro-intestinal lesions. Aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy. Pregnancy and lactation. |
| Special Precautions : | Renal or hepatic impairment, monitor on long term therapy; heart failure; elderly. CNS disorders. |
| Interactions : | Salicylates, anticoagulants, lithium, corticosteroids, diuretics, b-blockers, probenecid, quinolones. |
| Adverse Reactions : | GI bleeding, persistent headache (discontinue if occur). Corneal deposits, retinal disturbances (perform periodic eye tests on long-term therapy). GI intolerance, dizziness, CNS effects, blood dyscrasias. |
