| Indications : | Oral contraception. |
| Adult Dosage : | Starting on 1st day of cycle, 1 at same time daily without a break. |
| Contra Indications : | History of severe arterial disease, ischaemic heart disease, previous thrombotic stroke. Liver adenoma. Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding. Pregnancy. Recent trophoblastic disease. Previous ectopic pregnancy. |
| Special Precautions : | Hypertension, presence or history of thromboembolic disorders. Hormone dependent carcinoma. Liver dysfunction. Functional ovarian cysts. Focal migraine. Examine blood pressure, pelvic organs and breasts before and regularly during treatment. |
| Interactions : | Barbiturates, phenytoin, primidone, carbamazepine, chloral hydrate, dichloralphenazone, ethosuximide, rifampicin, glutethimide, chlorpromazine, meprobamate, griseofulvin. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Irregular menstrual bleeding. Breast discomfort. Acne. Functional ovarian cysts. Headache. REASONS FOR IMMEDIATE DISCONTINUATION OF TREATMENT: First signs of thrombophlebitis or thromboembolism. Jaundice. Pregnancy. They need NOT be withdrawn prior to, or following elective surgery. |
