| Generic Name : | Bambuterol |
| Drug description : | White to faintly yellow, oval scored tablets marked A/BM or A/ BA. |
| Presentation : | Tablets, bambuterol hydrochloride 10mg , 20mg . |
| Indications : | Asthma, bronchospasm, reversible airways obstruction. |
| Adult Dosage : | 10 mg once daily at night. If necessary, increase to 20 mg once daily. Patients previously tolerating b -agonists may be started and maintained on 20 2 mg once daily. |
| Child Dosage : | Not recommended. |
| Contra Indications : | Significant liver dysfunction, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Hypersensitivity to any constituent. Children. |
| Special Precautions : | Moderate to severe renal impairment. Pregnancy, lactation. Myocardial insufficiency, thyrotoxicosis. Diabetes. Monitor serum K + levels in severe asthma. |
| Interactions : | Suxamethonium, b-blockers. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Hypokalaemia, tremor, headache, cramps, palpitations, urticaria, exanthema. |
