| Drug description : | Becloforte: metered dose aerosol. Becloforte Diskhaler: breath- actuated inhaler. Becloforte Integra: Pack consisting of 1 Becloforte inhaler and an integral compact spacer device. |
| Presentation : | Becloforte: Beclometasone dipropionate 250 micrograms per dose. Becloforte Diskhaler: Beclometasone dipropionate 400 micrograms per dose. Becloforte Integra: Beclometasone dipropionate 250 micrograms per dose plus integral compact spacer device. |
| Indications : | Severe chronic asthma patients requiring high doses of beclomethasone. |
| Adult Dosage : | Becloforte and Becloforte Integra: 500 micrograms twice daily or 250 micrograms four times daily, increasing to 500 micrograms three or four times daily if necessary. Becloforte Diskhaler: 2 blisters twice daily. |
| Child Dosage : | Not recommended. |
| Special Precautions : | Active or quiescent pulmonary tuberculosis. Pregnancy. Transferring from systemic steroids. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Hoarseness, candidiasis of mouth and throat, rash, erythema, oedema of eyes, face and throat. |
