| Indications : | Treatment of asthma. |
| Adult Dosage : | One twice daily between meals. |
| Child Dosage : | Not recommended. Not recommended. |
| Contra Indications : | Hepatic impairment or cirrhosis. Lactation. Hypersensitivity to any constituents. Children under 12 years. |
| Special Precautions : | Do not substitute for steroid therapy or use for acute attacks. Elderly, pregnancy. Discontinue if patient devleops an eosinophilic condition or a Churg-Strauss syndrome type illness. If signs or symptoms of hepatotoxicity occur, measure serum tranaminases and consider withdrawing therapy. Moderate to severe renal impairment. |
| Interactions : | Warfarin, theophylline, terfenadine, aspirin, erythromycin, smoking. |
| Adverse Reactions : | Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rash, headache. Increased serum transaminases. Rarely, hepatitis, lower limb oedema, arthralgia, myalgia, hypersensitivity reactions including urticaria and angioedema, bruising, bleeding disorders including menorrhagia, thrombocytopenia and agranulocytosis (very rare). Increased respiratory infections in elderly patients. |
