Tablets.
Presentation :
Tablets, acetazolamide 250mg . Available from Regent Labs.
Indications :
Oedema.
Adult Dosage :
250mg - 375mg once daily.
Contra Indications :
- Hepatic disease or insufficiency
- Hyponatraemia: hypokalaemia
- Adrenocortical insufficiency, hyperchloraemic acidosis, severe renal disease or dysfunction
- Chronic closed angle glaucoma
- Hypersensitivity to sulphonamides
- Pregnancy.
Special Precautions :
Respiratory acidosis
Pulmonary obstruction, Emphysema
Diabetes
Monitor fluid, electrolytes, blood, Lactation.
Interactions :
- Folic acid antagonists
- hypoglycaemics
- oral anticoagulants.
Adverse Reactions :
GI disturbances
Nnausea, vomiting, diarrhoea;
CNS disturbances
Drowsiness, paraesthesia;
Hypersensitivity reactions
Blood dycrasias, flushing, thirst, headache, rash. headache, rash.
