Anticoagulation serviceThe rapid rise in demand for anticoagulation (INR) monitoring is placing both primary and secondary care clinics under increasing pressure. The number of patients receiving oral anticoagulation therapy is growing by about 10% each year making it essential to find more capacity to ensure these patients receive the best level of care. Managing this additional demand will place a massive strain upon both GP and hospital-based clinics. Devolution of INR clinics to community pharmacy is a practical solution and one which releases valuable resources, allowing GP surgeries and primary care organisations to focus their attention on other areas of patient care. Lloydspharmacy has developed a complete INR monitoring and dosage service which has been approved by Anticoagulation Europe. Lloydspharmacy can work with primary care organisations to tailor this service to meet local needs. Blood Pressure Measurement16million people in the UK have high blood pressure.
