Hib Meningitis

More than 75% of cases of meningitis caused by H. influenzae occur in children less than 5 years of age.  The incidence of disease caused by this organism peaks in children 1–4 years of age (46% of all cases) and is also high in infants 1–11 months of age (31% of all reported cases).1
