Managing ADHD

Pharmacological therapy

A range of pharmacotherapies has been evaluated for the treatment of ADHD.1 Over the past 40 years, the mainstay of treatment has been the stimulants methylphenidate and amphetamine, which are now available as long-acting formulations.1 Non-stimulants are also used for the treatment of ADHD, although there is currently only one licensed medication, atomoxetine.
