Registration and User Scenario

Installation of the EPG software to a PC is straightforward and fast. The installer must first choose their language(Image 1).

The installer asks which set of Country data the doctor would like to install (Images 2 & 3). Most users will only need to install one set of Country data but it is possible to install multiple sets or alternatively retrospectively install additional Countries at another time. For the purposes of this demonstration, our user selects all available sets of drug data.

To commence the short registration process (image 5) the user is first asked to select their Country of residence (Image 4).

After completion of registration the user clicks on "Submit Details", this action simultaneously launches the EPG, checks for any updates to the data (Image 7), i.e. new drugs launched, existing drugs de-registered or withdrawn from market and sends the users registration details via secure link to the EPG server.

The data submitted during registration is gathered for future use, product development and user profiling. The EPG is registered under international data protection laws. Under the EPG's "Terms of Use & Registration" elements of user data may be passed to our partners.

Installation of the EPG is now completed, the user is registered and the system is fully launched, as seen in Image 8 above, the user is presented with the main menu screen - in this case our user chose the UK. To change country our user simply moves the mouse over to the top right hand side of the screen (over the UK flag and the EMA logo. They are then given the opportunity to select an alternate Country and the system changes to that database automatically Images 9, 10 & 11.

Image 12 shows on the left hand side of the screen are the main German therapeutic areas, on the right are sub therapy sets.

In the following case in Image 12 our user has selected "Abmagerungsmittel/Appetitzugler" on the left hand side, which has opened the sub-menu on the right. The main sponsor is Abbott for the German area. Our user is looking for information on "Abmagerungsmittel/Appetitzugler" so selects this area and is presented with a further sub-menu on the right and left hand side of the screen.

After selecting "Einzelstoffe" from the list (above), the user is provided with a complete list of all current drugs in this class available for prescription in Germany. After selecting a drug from the list - in this case Recatol Mono the user is presented with basic prescribing information as seen in Image 14.
