  Progestogens.
• Generic Name
  Progesterone - menorrhagia
• Presentation
  Injection, progesterone 25 mg , 50 mg per mL, 100mg per 2mL.
• Description
  Ampoules.
• Indications
  Dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
• Adult Dosage
  5 - 10 mg daily by deep intramuscular injection into buttock for 5 - 10 days until 2 days before expected menstruation.
• Child Dosage
  Not applicable.
• Contra Indications
  

  Hypersensitivity to progestins, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, missed or incomplete abortion, mammary or genital tract carcinoma, thrombophlebitis, cerebral haemorrhage, marked hepatic dysfunction.

  Contraindicated as a diagnostic test for pregnancy.

• Special Precautions
  Diabetes, epilepsy, migraine.
