Gentamicin (as sulph.) 0.3%, hydrocortisone acetate 1%; - Description
drops. - Indications
Otitis externa. Post operation local use in infected mastoid cavities - Adult Dosage
2 - 4 drops three or four times daily and at night. Alternatively, wicks medicated with drops may be placed in external ear or mastoid cavity. - Contra Indications
Hypersensitivity to gentamicin or to any of the ingredients. Known or suspected perforation of the ear drum is a contraindication to use in otitis externa only.
- Special Precautions
Avoid long term continuous topical therapy. Cross sensitivity with other aminoglycoside antibiotics may occur. Pregnancy. Avoid prolonged use in infants.
- Adverse Drug Reactions
Superinfection.
