• Generic Name
  Pholcodine
• Presentation
  Galenphol: Pholcodine 5 mg per 5 mL. Galenphol Linctus Strong: Pholcodine 10 mg per 5 mL. Galenphol Linctus Paediatric: Pholcodine 2 mg per 5 mL.
• Description
  Galenphol: aniseed flavoured, sugar-free liquid. Galenphol Linctus Strong: aniseed flavoured, sugar-free liquid. Galenphol Linctus Paediatric: aniseed flavoured, sugar-free liquid.
• Indications
  Relief of unproductive dry cough.
• Adult Dosage
  Galenphol: 10 - 15 mL three or four times daily. Galenphol Linctus Strong: 5 mL three or four times daily.
• Child Dosage
  Galenphol: Under 1 year, not recommended; 1 - 5 years, 2.5 - 5 mL three or four times daily;  5 mL three or four times daily; 6 - 12 years, 5mL three or four times daily. Galenphol Linctus Strong: Not recommended. Galenphol Linctus Paediatric: Under 3 months, not recommended; 3 months to 1 year, 2 .5 mL; 1 - 5 years, 5 - 10 mL; 6 - 12 years, 10 mL. All three times daily.

  Liver disease.
• Special Precautions
  

  Asthma.

  MAOIs.
• Adverse Drug Reactions
  Constipation.
