VENTIDE PAEDIATRIC ROTACAPS

Selective b2 -agonists (beta- agonists, beta-adrenoceptor stimulants). - Presentation
Capsules, salbutamol (as sulphate) 4 mg , 8 mg . - Description
Sustained-release capsules. - Indications
Long term management of asthma only when the need for inhaled corticosteroid and bronchodilator therapy has been established. Bronchospasm in bronchial asthma. - Adult Dosage
Ventide: 2 puffs three or four times daily, titrated to lowest effective dose. Ventide Rotacaps: 1 three or four times daily. 8 mg twice daily. - Child Dosage
Ventide: 1 or 2 puffs two to four times daily. Ventide Rotacaps: Use Paediatric Rotacaps. Ventide Paediatric Rotacaps: 1 two to four times daily. Under 3 years, not recommended; 3 - 12 years, 4 mg twice daily. - Special Precautions
Thyrotoxicosis. Active or quiescent pulmonary tuberculosis. Transferring from systemic steroids. Prologed treatment with high doses increases risk of adrenal suppression and systemic effects; monitor adrenal function. Monitor height of children on prolonged therapy. Cpmsoder additional steroid therapy during times of stress or surgery. Pregnancy, lactation. Hyperthyroidism, myocardial insufficiency, angina, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, pregnancy.

b-blockers. Sympathomimetics. - Adverse Drug Reactions
Paradoxical bronchospasm, fine tremor, hypokalaemia, cardiac arrhymia, headache, peripheral vasodilatation, candidiasis of mouth and throat, hoarseness, hypersensitivity. Paradoxical bronchospasm, fine tremor, nervous tension, headache, peripheral vasodilatation.
