Salbutamol - Presentation
Salamol Inhaler: salbutamol 100 micrograms per actuation. Salamol Easi-Breathe: salbutamol 100 micrograms per actuation. - Description
Salamol Inhaler: CFC-free metered-dose inhaler. Salamol Easi-Breathe: breath- actuated inhaler. - Indications
Management of reversible airways obstruction, bronchospasm, and mild, moderate and severe asthma. Prevention of asthma attacks induced by exercise or exposure to allergens.
- Adult Dosage
For optimum results in most patients, use as required. Four hours should be allowed between doses; maximum 8 puffs in 24 hours. Acute asthma symptoms including bronchospasm: one puff as a single minimum starting dose, single minimum starting dose, increased to two puffs if necessary.
Prevention of exercise- or allergen-induced asthma: two puffs 10-15 minutes before challenge. For chronic therapy, two inhalations up to four times a day.
- Child Dosage
Acute asthma symptoms including bronchospasm: one puff as a single minimum starting dose, increased to two puffs if necessary. Prophylaxis: one or two puffs before exercise. Maximum 8 puffs in 24 hours. - Contra Indications
Hypersensitivity to any of components. Inhaled salbutamol preparations should not be used for managing premature labour or for threatened abortion.

Thyrotoxicosis. Pregnancy and lactation. - Interactions
Beta-blockers. - Adverse Drug Reactions
Paradoxical bronchospasm, fine tremor, muscle cramps, peripheral vasodilatation, tachycardia, headache, hypersensitivity reactions, hypokalaemia.
