Gel. - Indications
Surface anaesthesia prior to venepuncture or venous cannulation. - Adult Dosage
Apply contents of tube to centre of area to be anaesthetised and cover with an occlusive dressing. Allow contact for 30 - 45 minutes prior to procedure. Remains effective for 4 - 6 hours. Each tube of Ametop gel is intended for use on a single occasion only.
- Child Dosage
Under 1 month, not recommended; over 1 month, as for adults. - Contra Indications
Use in premature babies or in full term infants less than one month of age. Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients or to local anaesthetics of the ester type. Do not apply Ametop gel to broken skin, mucous membranes or to the skin, mucous membranes or to the eyes or ears.
- Special Precautions
Avoid broken skin. Lactation. - Adverse Drug Reactions
Mild local irritation.
