Generic Name Hepatitis A
Presentation Hepatitis A virus 50 antigen units per mL adsorbed onto aluminium hydroxide.
Description Suspension in pre-filled syringe.
Indications Active immunisation against hepatitis A.
Adult Dosage Primary immunisation, 1mL by intramuscular injection into deltoid region. Booster, 1mL 6 to 12 months after initial dose of Vaqta or other inactivated hepatitis A vaccines.
Child Dosage Under 18 years, not recommended.
Contra Indications Severe febrile infections.
Special Precautions Altered immunity, liver disease. Pregnancy, lactation.
Adverse Drug Reactions Mild transient local reactions, fever, malaise.
