Prophylaxis of malaria. - Adult Dosage
1 weekly. - Child Dosage
Under 5 years, not applicable; 5 Under 5 years, not applicable; 5 - 10 years, half adult dose; over 10 years, same as adult. Maintain therapy for 4 weeks after leaving area. - Special Precautions
Not suitable for the treatment of dermatitis herpetiformis. Lactation. Hepatic or renal impairment. Give folate supplements in pregnancy and other deficiency states.
- Interactions
Folate inhibitors, rifampicin, probenecid. - Adverse Drug Reactions
Blood disorders. Acute haemolysis and skin sensitivity.
