TAMOFEN (infertility)

• Presentation
  Tablets, tamoxifen (as citrate) 10mg , 20mg , 40mg .
• Description
  10 mg white scored tablets marked T10; 20 mg white tablets marked T20; 40 mg white tablets marked T40.
• Indications
  Anovulatory infertility.
• Adult Dosage
  

  20 mg once daily on four successive days commencing on second day of menstruation. Increase if necessary to 40 mg then 80 mg daily for subsequent courses.

• Child Dosage
  Not applicable.
• Contra Indications
  Pregnancy.
• Interactions
  Warfarin, rifampicin, other inducers of CYP3A4.
• Adverse Drug Reactions
  

  Hot flushes, vaginal bleeding, GI distress, visual disturbances, alopecia. Rarely, endometrial carcinoma; advise patients to report symptoms of abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge.
