ELANTAN LA (angina)

• Drug Class Description
  Nitrates.
• Generic Name
  Isosorbide mononitrate - angina
• Presentation
  Capsules, isosorbide mononitrate 25mg , 50mg .
• Description
  25mg: brown/white sustained- release capsules. 50mg: brown/pink sustained- release capsules.
• Indications
  Prophylaxis of angina.
• Adult Dosage
  25-100 mg in the morning.
• Child Dosage
  Not recommended.
• Contra Indications
  

  Known sensitivity to nitrates. Acute myocardial infarction with low filling pressure, acute circulatory failure (shock, vascular collapse), or very low blood pressure. Avoid in patients with marked anaemia, head trauma, cerebral haemorrhage, severe hypotension, hypovolaemia.

• Special Precautions
  Use with caution in hypothyroidism, hypothermia, malnutrition, severe liver or renal disease. Pregnacy and lactation.
• Interactions
  Some effects of alcohol may be potentiated.
• Adverse Drug Reactions
  Headache, flushes, dizziness.
