  Haematinics (iron supplements) / folate supplements.
• Generic Name
  Ferrous sulphate dried, folic acid
• Presentation
  Capsules, dried ferrous sulphate 150mg (equivalent to 47mg elemental iron), folic acid 0.5mg. Fefol is not prescribable on the NHS.
• Description
  Spansule capsules.
• Indications
  Prophylaxis of iron and folic acid deficiency during pregnancy.
• Adult Dosage
  One capsule a day during pregnancy. Some pregnant patients may require a higher dose of iron because of dietary or other factors.
• Child Dosage
  Not applicable.
