GALENAMET

• Drug Class Description
  H2 -antagonists (H2 -receptor antagonists / H 2 -blockers).
• Generic Name
  Cimetidine
• Presentation
  Tablets, cimetidine 200mg , 400mg , 800mg .
• Description
  Tablets.
• Indications
  Duodenal and benign gastric ulceration, including that due to NSAIDs. Recurrent and stomal ulceration. Oesophageal reflux, persistent dyspepsia, other conditions requiring a reduction of gastric acid.
• Special Precautions
  Exclude malignant disease before and during treatment. Impaired renal function. Monitor patients on long term therapy. Pregnancy, lactation.
• Interactions
  Oral anticoagulants, phenytoin, theophylline.
• Adverse Drug Reactions
  

  Diarrhoea, dizziness, rash, tiredness. Gynaecomastia, occasional reversible liver damage, confusion. Very rarely interstitial nephritis, acute pancreatitis, thrombocytopenia, headache, myalgia, arthralgia.
