Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs, propionic acid). - Generic Name
Fenbufen - Presentation
Lederfen Tablets: Fenbufen 300mg . Lederfen Capsules: Fenbufen 300 mg , 450mg . - Description
Lederfen Tablets: 300 mg light blue capsule-shaped f-c tablet marked WY 050; 450 mg light blue f-c tablet marked WY 051. Lederfen Capsules: dark blue capsule marked WY 052. - Indications
Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and acute musculo- skeletal disorders.
- Adult Dosage
300 mg tablets or capsules: one in the morning and two at night. 450 mg tablets: one in the morning and one at night. - Child Dosage
Not recommended under 14 years. - Elderly Dosage
Use standard adult dose - start with lowest recommended dose. - Contra Indications
Aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy. Active peptic ulceration or history of GI lesions. Lactation. - Special Precautions
Renal or hepatic impairment, monitor on long term therapy; bronchial asthma, or a history of bronchial asthma. Elderly (start with lowest recommended dose). Do not use concomitantly with other NSAIDs. Pregnancy.
- Interactions
Protein bound drugs, anticoagulants, quinolones, lithium, methotrexate, other NSAIDs, cardiac glycosides, mifepristone, cyclosporin, corticosteroids. - Adverse Drug Reactions
Rash (discontinue if occurs). Stevens Johnson syndrome, angioedema, facial oedema, erythema multiforme, epidermal necrolysis, vasculitis, purpura, photosensitivity. GI intolerance, dizziness, visual disturbance. Very rarely, allergic alveolitis and pulmonary eosinophilia.
