Benoral Tablets: Benorilate (benorylate) 750 mg . Benoral Suspension: Benorilate (benorylate) 4g per 10mL. Benoral Sachets: Benorilate (benorylate) 2g. - Description
Benoral Tablets: white oblong tablet marked BENORAL. Benoral Suspension: suspension. Benoral Sachets: powder. - Indications
Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteo-arthritis and painful musculoskeletal conditions. It may also be used to treat mild to moderate pain due to many other causes and as an antipyretic in febrile conditions.
- Adult Dosage
Benoral Tablets: Two four times daily. Benoral Suspension: 5 - 10 mL twice daily. Benoral Sachets: Usually three daily in divided doses; maximum four daily.
- Child Dosage
Not recommended. - Contra Indications
Do not give to children under 12 except under medical supervision. Active peptic ulceration or a history of peptic ulceration. Patients with known sensitivity to paracetamol or aspirin including those with asthma, or haemophilia and similar coagulation disorders. Lactation.
- Special Precautions
Renal or hepatic impairment; monitor renal and hepatic function on long term therapy. History of bronchospasm, aspirin/ anti-inflammatory induced allergies. Elderly. Dyspepsia. Pregnancy (avoid at term).
- Interactions
Anticoagulants, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, corticosteroids, frusemide. Other analgesics containing aspirin or paracetamol. - Adverse Drug Reactions
Nausea, constipation or diarrhoea, indigestion or heartburn, drowsiness and skin rashes. Possibility that gastro- intestinal haemorrhage may be induced by Benoral cannot be excluded. Aspirin may precipitate bronchospasm and induce asthma attacks or other hypersensitivity reactions in dizziness, tinnitus and deafness. Rarely, blood dyscrasias including thrombocytopenia and agranulocytosis.
