Nasal spray, beclometasone dipropionate 50 micrograms per dose . Available from Co-Pharma (BeclomistR ), Cox, Galen (Beclo- Aqua R ), Generics UK, Numark. - Description
Nasal spray. - Indications
Prophylaxis and treatment of perennial and seasonal allergic perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis. Vasomotor rhinitis. - Adult Dosage
Two sprays in each nostril twice daily; maintenance, one spray in each nostril twice daily. Use minimum effective dose. Maximum eight sprays daily.
- Child Dosage
Under 6 years, not recommended; over 6 years, as for adults. - Contra Indications
Hypersensitivity to any component. - Special Precautions
Fungal, viral or tuberculous infections. Transferring from systemic steroids. Prolonged treatment with high doses increases risk of adrenal suppression and systemic effects. Consider additional systemic steroids in times of stress or surgery. Monitor height of children receiving prolonged therapy. Pregnancy, lactation. - Adverse Drug Reactions
Nasal irritation, epistaxis, taste and smell disturbances. Rarely, septal perforation.
