  ACE inhibitors / thiazide diuretics (thiazides).
• Generic Name
  Captopril, hydrochlorothiazide
• Presentation
  Tablets, captopril 50mg, hydrochlorothiazide 25mg.
• Description
  White scored tablets coded AZE 50/25.
• Indications
  

  Mild to moderate hypertension in patients who have been stabilised on the individual components in the same proportions.

• Adult Dosage
  One daily; maximum two daily.
• Child Dosage
  Not recommended.
• Contra Indications
  
  • Anuria
  • aortic stenosis
  • outflow obstruction
  • Pregnancy
  • lactation.
• Special Precautions
  
  • Haemodialysis
  • Renal impairment; monitor renal function, white cell count and urinary protein before and during therapy.
  • Monitor serum electrolytes.
  • Collagen vascular disease, anaesthesia, diabetes, hepatic impairment, gout.

  • Lithium
