Captopril - hypertension/diabetes - Presentation
Tablets, captopril 12.5mg , 25mg , 50mg . - Description
12.5 mg, white scored capsule- shaped tablet marked ACE and 12.5; 25 mg, 50 mg white scored tablets marked ACE and tablet strength. - Indications
Mild to moderate hypertension. Severe hypertension where standard therapy is ineffective or inappropriate. Diabetic nephropathy in insulin dependent diabetes.
- Adult Dosage
Mild to moderate hypertension
Initially 12 .5 mg twice daily. Maintenance, 25 mg twice daily increasing gradually at 2 - 4 week intervals if necessary to maximum 50 mg twice daily.Severe hypertension
Initially 12.5 mg twice daily increasing if necessary to maximum 50 mg three times daily. Diabetic nephropathy, 75 - 100 mg daily in divided doses. - Child Dosage

Renovascular hypertension
severe congestive heart failure. Haemodialysis.Renal impairment
monitor renal function, white cell count and urinary protein before and during therapy.Collagen vascular disease
