Solution for injection in cartridges for use in dental-type syringes.Presentation
Solution for injection, lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate 24.65mg equivalent to lidocaine base 20mg and adrenaline hydrogen tartrate 25.0 micrograms corresponding to adrenaline 12.5 micrograms.Indications
Local anaesthetic solution with vasoconstrictor for dental infiltration anaesthesia where a vasoconstrictor is indicated.Contra Indications
Known hypersensitivity to anaesthetics of the amide type. Not for intravenous use. Contraindicated for anaesthesia of the fingers, toes, tip of nose and penis.
Special Precautions
Epilepsy cardiac disease particularly with arrhythmia or hypertension, impaired respiratory function, thyrotoxicosis, hypovolaemia, acute porphyria and impaired hepatic function. Pregnancy and lactation. Avoid accidental intravascular injection.
Interactions
Tricyclic antidepressants.Adverse Reactions
Reactions primarily of two types, typified by stimulation and depression of the cerebral cortex and medulla, respectively. Slow onset - stimulation leading to nervousness, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, tremor, convulsions and respiratory arrest. Rapid onset - depression leading primarily to respiratory arrest, cardiovascular collapse and cardiac arrest.
