Drug Class Description

Corticosteroids (steroids) / local anaesthetics.

Generic Name

Fluocortolone, cinchocaine

Drug Description

Suppositories/ointment.

Presentation

Ultraproct Suppositories: Fluocortolone pivalate 0.61mg, fluocortolone hexanoate 0.63mg, cinchocaine hydrochloride 1mg. Ultraproct Ointment: Fluocortolone pivalate 0.092%, fluocortolone hexanoate 0.095%, cinchocaine hydrochloride 0.5%.

Indications

Short term symptomatic relief of haemorrhoids, pruritus ani and vulvae.

Adult Dosage

Ultraproct Suppositories: 1 one to three times daily for up to 5-7 days. Ultraproct Ointment: Apply two to four times daily.

Child Dosage

Not recommended.

Contra Indications

Tuberculous, fungal, bacterial and viral infections.

Special Precautions

Avoid prolonged use. Pregnancy. Avoid prolonged use. Pregnancy.

Adverse Reactions

Systemic corticosteroid effects.
