Rovamycine Drug Class Description

Volwassenen: eerste dag 1500 mg tweemaal per dag; volgende dagen 1 g tweemaal per dag. Kinderen: 50-100 mg/kg lichaamsgewicht per dag in 2-4 doses.

Rovamycine Drug Description

Bacteriostatisch antibioticum. Het spectrum omvat o.a. streptokokken en stafylokokken en de Gram-negatieve organismen Haemophilus influenza, Neisseria gonorrhoeae en meningitidis en Bordetella pertussis. Spiramycine ontplooit de grootste werkzaamheid in alkalisch milieu. Kinetische gegevens: Resorptie: onvolledig, vooral bij kinderen. Tmax = ca 2 uur. Penetreert goed in de weefsels; deze concentraties kunnen meer dan tienmaal zo hoog zijn als de bloedspiegels. Passeert de bloed- hersenbarriere niet. Eliminatie: vnl. via speeksel en gal; via de urine max. 10%. Plasmahalfwaardetijd = 3-4 uur.
