Solution for injection in cartridges for use in dental type syringes.Presentation
Solution for injection, lidocaine (lignocaine) 2%, adrenaline 1:80, 000. Each mL of solution contains lidocaine BP 21.3mg, equivalent to lidocaine hydrochloride anhydrous 20.0mg and adrenaline BP 12.5 micrograms.Indications
Local anaesthetic for use mainly in dental procedures.Adult Dosage
Maximum single dose of lidocaine hydrochloride is 500mg when given with a vasoconstrictor. Dosage adjusted according to patient and site of administration.
Contra Indications
Known hypersensitivity to anaesthetics of the amide type or the other constituents. The use the other constituents. The use of a vascoconstrictor is contraindicated for anaesthesia of fingers, toes, tip of nose, ears and penis. Intravenous use contraindicated.
Special Precautions
Epilepsy, impaired cardiac conduction, impaired respiratory function. Caution in impaired hepatic function if the dose or site of administration is likely to result in high blood levels. Pregnancy. Avoid accidental intravasular injection.
Adverse Reactions
Rarely, allergic reactions.
